Born : 31 May 1971
Supriya Wadgaonkar is based in Pune, Maharashtra.
A highly regarded contemporary Indian painter, known for more than three decades.
Her figurative and semi-abstract art beautifully captures the depth of human emotions, social integrity, woman empowerment, strength and love.
A notable work in this sphere includes her highly moving 'Nirbhaya' painting.
She describes her work as an exploration of the 'figurative forms of life, seamlessly shifting into abstract and semi-abstract expressions.
She heavily employs acrylics on canvas and mixed media on paper to build deep, layered compositions filled with intense color variations.
Her portraits frequently showcase soft expressions juxtaposed with striking, vibrant tones to capture complex internal dialogues, shifting moods, and human connections.
Her paintings act as a mirror to her sensitivity towards nature, society and the human condition.
Supriya has held several exhibitions in India & abroad.
Her vibrant artworks have gained national as well as international acclaim, finding permanent homes in prestigious collections such as The National Museums of Uzbekistan and Poland.
